Diving the Spigel Grove
A few years ago I started Scuba Diving and I had a little camera that could take underwater pictures at depths less then 30 feet, it was and still is great for snorkeling or on shallow dives but it's depth restriction made it impossible to take it on many of my dives. So this year I got equipped with a new camera that can go at a depth of 300 feet, more then double the depth I am certified for and intend to dive to.
The featured picture seen here has been taken at around 85 feet deep on the wreck of the Spiegel Grove located 7 miles off the coast of Key Largo, Florida.
You can read about the details of this dive and see more pictures on my blog.
You can view the videos of that dive on my bigphotodan youtube channel, accessable from the contact section of this website.

Monument Valley
From the first time I set foot in the South West I wanted to go there. For me monument valley represents the beautifull zen place in the desert, as well as the landscape of the cowboy movie. It sure was the main place I wanted to photograph. As to be expected I had researched the location ahead of time, when I got there I was ready to take the photo.
This picture use a technique known as HDR that stands for high dynamic range. I take 3 pictures a different expositions they are then reassembled in the computer to use the maximum of the information in the 3 pictures to produce a photo with a balanced between the dark and the light. Some newer cameras now have that fonction built in so the processing is done in the camera instead of using a computer.
