Canon Powershot D10 (Dead by water infiltration)
This rugged point and shoot camera is the on I carry in my pockets, keep in my car or in my backpack. It's also a good to have whe your reflex is mounted with a 400mm lens, it gives you options for wide shoots.
It is shockproof, it can withstand a fall of 1.25 meters on the cement. It means it can be carried in the forest attached to the strap of your backpack ready to shoot at any given time.
It is also freeze proof, a good thing if you forget it in the car on a Canadian winter night or if you drop it in the snow and don't notice right away.
But the main reason that made me choose this camera as my point and shoot was it's cappability to be used under water at depth of up to 33 feet.
Now all this is good but the main question is ; what about the quality of the pictures that can be taken with this camera ?
Well first here are a few specs: f/2.8 apperture at 6.2mm (reflex equivalent: 35mm) bring in a good amount of light with a descent field of view.
Manual modes including manual focus and noise reduction on low shutter speeds.
DIGIC4 processor, fast and inteligent in auto mode.
Special mode for underwater with a very efficient filter for blue water .
Very good sunset mode.
